About
“True music must repeat the thought and inspirations of the people and time. My people are Americans. My time is today.”
The Gershwin Legacy Project (GLP) celebrates and preserves the enduring influence of George Gershwin and his family, inspiring creativity across generations and cultures. Through youth educational programs, live performances, concerts, exhibitions, mentorships, and scholarships, GLP fosters a deep appreciation for the Gershwins’ contributions to American music, arts, and culture.

WHAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING ABOUT
THE GLP
"The event yesterday was one of the more enjoyable and inspirational cultural experiences I ever recall."
- Myles Martel
Communication/
Organizational Strategy Consultant
"Frankie charmed us all with her stories, sharp mind, and palpable gratitude to share her memories."
- Jess Zielinski, Associate Director/Alumni Relations at Hamilton College
"I can say as a vocalist that has been singing Gershwin tunes in just about every performance over the last at least 20 years, to me he was the father of brilliant composers. He left us with timeless music in such a short lifetime, I can’t even imagine what more he would have created if given a longer lifespan.” - Renée Patrick
